A Church-Based Business as Mission ministry that partners with ACK Kitale Diocese to unleash and empower our churches to transform society. The Diocesan DML Ministry is aimed at unleashing and empowering our Churches to transform society and is made possible through strategic partnership with ICM's DML.

About This Partnership

This partnership enables the Diocese to fulfill its goals in all the 5 Pillars in the Strategic Plan (2019-2023), but primarily, the Stewardship, Spirituality, and Society-Transformation Pillars.

We are delighted that 24 parishes in our Diocese have committed and are now in different levels of training engagements with DML Staff. We trust God will use this partnership to bring transformation to our communities.

Mission & Vision

Vision: To reclaim the marketplace through Church-based Business as Mission and bring it under the Lordship of Christ.

Mission: Building the capacity of the local church to disciple its members for the purpose of doing work (business, farming and employment) as an act of worship to our Creator.

Founded: 2013 by International Christian Ministries (ICM) in Kenya

Partnership Impact

Research Results (September 2013 - February 2015):

A study conducted with 260 businesses across three different denominations and three different cities in Western Kenya showed:

For Churches:

Marked increase in attendance of church services by business owners

Increase in membership as business owners brought in co-workers

Increase in participation of business people in other church ministries

Increase in giving as household income increased through business growth and embrace of Christian stewardship principles

For Businesses and Business Owners:

Marked increase in sales

Increase in profit in the business

Increase in employment as new jobs were created

Increase in household income

Spiritual growth for business owners

Current Diocese Engagement:

24 parishes actively engaged in DML training programs

Multiple levels of training across the diocese

Key Activities

Workshops for Pastors and Church Leaders - Church Growth and Evangelism (5 hours)

Discipling Marketplace Leaders training (2 days)

Asset-Based Community Development workshops (6 hours)

Microbusiness training for business owners (2 days)

Small and Medium Size Entrepreneurs training (12 weeks @ 3 hours per week)

Leaders/Employees in the Workplace training (8 weeks @ 3 hours per week)

Parish-level implementation with guidance from DML staff at ICM Kitale office
